Steps taken to upgrade path to Canada’s Temple
Recently, the first concrete steps were taken to upgrade Leslie Street, the road that will lead to Canada’s future House of Worship.
In its annual report, the National Spiritual Assembly of the Bahá’ís of Canada shared that “The first, historic, concrete steps—indeed, in some respects a breaking of ground—have been taken, as preparations begin to upgrade Leslie Street and create a new pedestrian path leading to the Temple site.”
Trees were carefully cleared along Leslie Street to create space for these improvements. Guided by a deep commitment to ecological stewardship, multiple native species will replace every tree removed. Over 1400 saplings have already been planted nearby as part of an afforestation and enhancement effort.
Once constructed, the Temple will be nestled in an established wood, surrounded by a renewed native forest and gardens.
