The Justice Conference: Protagonists of Systematic Change
Date: 10-13 April 2020
Location: De Poort Conference Centre, Netherlands.
Societies are “in great turmoil” (Bahá’u’lláh) and require fundamental shifts from current social, economic and other systems. How can we become active protagonists for needed changes in “thought and action”(UHJ), remaining ever-conscious of and addressing the “inequity, discrimination, and exploitation” (UHJ) damaging the body of humanity?
Raising awareness of the intricacies of “the adverse conditions experienced by many populations” (UHJ) remains a crucial step in designing appropriate actions for system shift. How can expanding our own understanding of these conditions contribute to effective social transformation?
If we are indeed servants of the oneness of humanity and the greatest bounty is to
“become the cause of peace and well-being, of happiness and advantage” (‘Abdu’l-Bahá) to society, how do we envision our contribution to systemic change that will result in the promise that “the present day Order [will] be rolled up, and a new one spread out in its stead” (Bahá’u’lláh)?
As humanity enters “its long presaged period of maturity, the evidences of which are everywhere visible and apparent,” how can we design and implement solutions while ensuring that our “efforts are carried out in a learning mode – characterized by constant action, reflection, consultation and study” (OSED)?
