As was previously announced, in light of the pandemic, the Association for Bahá’í Studies has decided to move the ABS Annual Conference online. In the hopes of maximizing accessibility, the activities will be spread out over a longer period. Live sessions will be carried out using the Zoom platform.

The conference will begin in the late afternoon (PDT) and early evening (EDT) on Friday, July 24 and will conclude around the same time on Saturday, August 8.

Program

The program will feature workshops, keynote presentations, round table discussions, book launches, creative devotions, and a film festival. Participants in the ABS seminars and reading groups will share exciting new developments in how we have come together to build our capacity to contribute a Bahá’í perspective to discourses in professional and academic fields. Follow ABS on Facebook or Instagram for announcement of the full program in the coming days.

Registration

To facilitate the friends’ participation during these uncertain times, registration is available on a ‘pay-what-you-wish’ basis, starting at USD $0.00.

Participants can register online or call the ABS office (613-233-1903 ext. 2), weekdays between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. (EDT) to register.

Reading groups

Reading groups provide an opportunity for friends connected to specific discourses to advance their understanding together. The groups will have reading lists and will meet fairly regularly for four to eight weeks over the summer to consult. Participation requires a certain level of commitment and investment of time and energy.

Please visit the ABS website for a complete list of reading groups available this year, and to register.
