Films capture insights from the 114 youth conferences
The Bahá’í World News Service recently posted a series of 10 short films, entitled To Serve Humanity, which capture insights from a few of the more than 80,000 youth around the world who attended the 114 youth conferences called by the Universal House of Justice. The films show the ways in which young people can contribute to the spiritual and material well-being of their communities and bring to life what it means for their generation to be dedicated to the service of humanity.
Among other examples, the films show how young people on every continent draw on the same concepts – such as friendship and mutual support – as they take responsibility for making a significant contribution to the development of their neighbourhoods and villages. The segment on the theme of “coherence” highlights how clarity about one’s purpose allows a young person to see each aspect of life as part of a coherent whole.
The themes of the films include: contributing to the betterment of society, twofold moral purpose, early adolescence, selfless service, friendship and mutual support, coherence, youth and community building, qualities for collective action, and building a new civilization. The last film “Responding to the Call” shares insights and experiences of youth as they implemented the plans they made at the conferences. Please click here to access the videos.
