Dear Bahá’í Friends,

Since the postal disruption does not appear to be nearing resolution, the National Spiritual Assembly is happy to remind the friends about ways they can continue to make payments to Huqúqu’lláh, contribute to the funds of the Faith, and access the upcoming issue of Bahá’í Canada.  Kindly share this letter with the believers.

Contributions to the Funds of the Faith and payment of Huqúqu’lláh

Friends who are not yet using the online contribution system on the Membership Portal (https://member.bahai.ca) are encouraged to do so, as it is a safe and convenient method of contributing to all the funds of the Faith, including the Local Fund, and to make Huqúqu’lláh payments.  Funds can be sent through the online system via credit card or electronic funds transfer (EFT).

If accessing the Membership Portal for the first time, one must first complete the initial registration process and also verify their membership profile on the site.  To do so, the user must click the “Register” link, found just under the “Sign In” button.  This will take them to the Registration page, where they will need to provide the requested information.  Once that is completed, the user will be directed to a page to set up their password.  An authentication code will be sent to their email address; this will be needed to complete the Set Password page.  Once a password has been set, the registration process is completed and the user will be directed to the home page of the Portal to log in with their email address and password.  When signing in to the site for the first time after registration, they must click a link to verify their membership profile.

If a believer has previously registered on the Membership Portal but has forgotten their password, they can click the “Forgot Password” button on the home page and follow the steps outlined on the site.

After a user has completed the membership verification process, they can access the Bahá’í Funds Contribution System by clicking the “Contribute here” button.  Should questions arise regarding accessing or using the Membership Portal, inquiries can be sent to ict@bahai.ca or one’s Local Spiritual Assembly.

Receipts can be downloaded from the Membership Portal for payments to the Right of God and for fund contributions that are made through the National Centre or through Local Spiritual Assemblies that are using the receipting feature.  We are also exploring alternate ways of mailing income tax receipts, should the disruption continue past the middle of December.

Bahá’í Canada

The next issue of Bahá’í Canada is due to be printed soon and will be delivered to all those who have opted to receive a hard copy once the postal disruption is over.  The magazine will also be available online at www.bahaicanada.bahai.ca.

With loving Bahá’í greetings,
Karen McKye, Secretary
