Pictures from youth conferences in Halifax and Saskatoon
This past weekend, the communities of Halifax, N.S., Saskatoon, Sask. and Victoria, B.C hosted youth conferences to lend impetus to the growth of Bahá’í communities across Canada.
The National Spiritual Assembly called for these conferences in the wake of 114 youth conferences worldwide called by the Universal House of Justice last year. The aim was to welcome more youth into a process that provides people of all ages the opportunity to contribute to constructive social change and to build their capacity to serve their communities.
About 83 youth attended the conference in Saskatoon, approximately 32 of whom were not registered Bahá’ís. Approximately 65 youth attended the conference in Halifax, about 20 of whom were not registered Bahá’ís, and 74 attended the conference in Victoria, 22 of whom were from the wider community.
There will be seven more youth conferences taking place this summer in Vancouver and Kelowna, B.C.; Calgary, Alta.; Toronto, Waterloo, and Ottawa, Ont., and Montreal, Que.
